Computer Coding is the team sport for future leaders and innovators. This year the league is split into 3 sessions. The first session - beginning in September - will run 8 weeks, the following sessions will run 6 weeks each.
What will kids be doing?
During each session, children in teams of 3 will design solutions to real-world science and technology challenges by programming and building extensions for their robots – supplied by YML. They will develop problem solving and creativity skills, learn & practice important STEM skills, and build meaningful social relationships with their peers.
Is there a reason to do more than one session?
Absolutely! Each session will entail a new challenge. Teams that complete all criteria for the three rounds of missions and be eligible for the Spring 2018 Invitational Round.
Our first 8-week season begins the first week of September and runs through October 28th. Teams will meet once a week for 1.5 hours to work together in designing solutions, building and programming their robots. Solution videos will be submitted at the conclusion of the first round.
We will field two teams in the Wonder League Robotics division. Each team will meet once a week for 1.5 hours.
The cost of the first session is $250. YML supplies the robots, the working mat, computers, space, support, and instruction for the teams. There is no required travel, so the price of the club is final.

What is YML?
Simply put, YML is a makerspace for kids to explore and embrace an array of 21st century design and technology tools through a variety of Makers Clubs and workshops designed for all ages and interests.
Our mission at Young Makers Lab is to give kids the time, space, resources, instruction, and support that will allow them to create and share amazing things using 21st century tools and methods.
Sometimes the most powerful learning takes place when kids mix creativity and technology to learn and build. At YML, kids write computer programs, design works of art and print them in 3D, build robots, tinker with machines and electronics, and create amazing things yet to be imagined. YML provides kids with the opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills while building the kind of confidence that only comes with the challenge of designing and creating.
