Jobs at YML and DigiCamp

We are currently accepting applications for employment at Young Makers Lab and Digi-Camp. Please read the text below before completing the application so that you can more accurately tell us what positions you are qualified to take.

These positions are open right now and, for the right candidates, could lead to full-time positions in the summer at our summer camp – DigiCamp.

When you are ready to apply, scroll to the bottom of this page and have at it!

Available positions:

Administrative Assistant

Our AA would be especially skilled at blog writing, doing research, reaching out to potential customers through email or phone calls, and is tech savvy. A friendly, outgoing personality is a must. The ability to take direction and correction with ease and grace, and to be independent is also incredibly valued.

Days and Hours:
Monday through Thursday – 9 a.m. to 12 noon – We would entertain an applicant who could work some, but not all of those days of week, and some, but not all of those hours.  We are flexible there.

Starting pay is $12.50 per hour, and is negotiable based on your portfolio/experience.

Educational Assistant

Our EA would be super friendly, great with kids, and tech savvy. We teach kids, aged 5 to 14, how to build things using appropriate tools and skills (hot glue guns, scissors, etc).  We also teach computer programming through Scratch and other like tools. We provide training, so if your are new to this realm, no worries – as long as you love working with kids (including when they are not at their best.)

Days and Hours:
Monday through Friday – 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
These positions are for our “in-school workshops.” We go into local schools and use their computer labs to teach computer programming through Scratch and a few other things.  An EA would NOT need to commit to every day of the week.

Starting pay is $28 per shift. As you become more adept and capable we can discuss promoting you to an instructor position, which currently pays $32 per shift.

Educational Leader

Our EL would be someone who has a broad range of skill sets in our field, the most important of which is working with children. You must LOVE helping kids, even when they are not at their best. The EL would teach classes in a range of content areas including computer programming, electronics, robotics, engineering, and problem solving. We will provide training for the right candidate that demonstrates an advanced ability to work with kids. We really encourage those who are in the education field of study or work to apply for these positions. We also ask that you research emerging technological developments and bring new ideas for projects to our kids.

Days and Hours:
Monday through Wednesday – 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (some days we end at 5:30)
Saturday – 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Our ELs typically work some, but not all of those shifts.  We are able to work within the schedules of the right applicants.

Starting pay is $14 per hour. We believe we are generous and will evaluate your performance after 90 days to discuss the potential for an increase in your rate.
